Jatmai Temple is located in Gariaband, 85 km from Raipur.Set amongst the beautiful locales of a small forest, Jatmai Temple is dedicated to Mata Jatmai. The temple is beautifully carved out of granite with numerous small shikharas or towers and a single huge tower. On the top of the main entrance, one can see murals depicting mythological characters. The stone idol of Jatmai is placed inside the sanctum. One can also visit Ghatarani waterfall, a larger waterfall situated 25 km from Jatmai Temple. The Jatmai Temple wears a decorative look on special festive occasions like Navaratri which is celebrated with much enthusiasm and devotion. After monsoons, the waterfall is in full flow making this destination a preferred picnic spot for the whole family. The waterfall plunges into a natural pool that is the best place to take a dip before entering into the temple. The more adventurous can take a hike into the forest.
Rajim is situated on the right bank of the Mahanadi River. Most prominent attraction of the town is the Rajivalochana Temple, which is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. In the town, a black stone statue of the Buddha meditating under the Bodhi tree can also be found. Around Rajivalochana Temple, several temples can be found that are dedicated to different incarnations of Lord Vishnu such as Vamana (boar), Narasimha (Man-cum-Lion), Badrinath and Jagannath. About 1000 year old Shiva Temple (Was Built in 11-12 Century), is the main temple is the Bhoramdeo complex with the stone architectural features with erotic sculptures of Khajuraho temple and Konarak Sun Temple.
It is popularly known as mini replica of Khajuraho temple as the outer sculpture on stone display Kamasutra positions. It is around 135 km by road from capital city Raipur.
Gangrel dam is located near dhatmtari on Mahanadi river . It is approx 90 kilometers from Raipur and 15 kilometers from Dhatmtari. It takes almost 1.45 hours to reach from Raipur. The site has garden etc and the reservoir looks beautiful. There are small restaurant nearby and also cottages by Chhattisgarh tourism. Speed boat ride is also available here for the tourists. Also bus service is operated from the gate to the garden for the tourists.
The Maa Bamleshwari Devi Temple is one of the most famous high hilltop temples of India, situated on a 1,600 feet in Dongargarh. Bambleshwari Temple hill also has another tourist’s attraction as rope-way travel system, the only rope-way that has been set up in Chhattisgarh state.
Sirpur is ancient and historical heritage site in Mahasamund district of Chhattisgarh 83 km from Raipur ,on the banks of the river Mahanadi. The town of Sirpur is known for Laxman Temple considered as one of the finest brick temples of India, Gandheshwar Temple, Ram temple and Baleshwar Mahadev temple.
The Achanakmar wildlife sanctuary is houses a number of endangered birds and animal species including Spotted deer, Indian leopards, Bengal wild tigers and wild India bison. Tiger Reserve of Achanakmar is 150 km from Raipur and part of Bilaspur Forest Division and easily approachable from Belgahna and Pendra Road.
Champaran has religious significance for being the birthplace of the Saint Vallabhacharya, the reformer and founder of the Vallabh Sect. Located at a distance of about 60 km from Raipur, the village has a temple that was constructed in honor of Saint Vallabhacharya.
Temple of Champakeshwara Mahadeva is located next to this temple. Every year in the month of Magh, an annual fair is held in the village. On eleventh bright day of Baisakh (April-May), birth anniversary of Saint Vallabhacharya is celebrated every year. The village is swarmed by devotees on the anniversary of the birth of Saint Vallabhacharya. In the village is also located the Temple of Saint Vallabhacharya, the place of worship for the followers of the Vallabha Sect.
Hajra has a 46 m high falls that is situated amongst dense forests, hills and tunnels. Located in Dongargarh 135 km away from Raipur, this area is a popular picnic spot.
